2 boats collide in Lake Washington; woman taken to hospital with minor injuries

SEATTLE -- Two boats collided on Lake Washington Tuesday night, sending a woman to the hospital with minor injuries. police said.

Seattle Police Harbor units responded to a call of a two-boat collision north of the State Route 520 Bridge. When they arrived, they found two small power boats that sustained a glancing blow when the two passed  each other. Both boats were able to return to the Magnuson docks.

A 50-year-old woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center for minor injuries to her ribs and back.

Harbor Patrol Officers are investigating and believe the collision may be due to the sun reflecting off the water and choppy conditions. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this collision, police said.
