Graphic photos of Pilchuck River otter attack released (WARNING)

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — Photos of the wounds suffered by a boy and his grandmother when a river otter attacked the pair at Pilchuck River at Lake Connor Park Thursday morning were released to Q13 FOX News.

The Lake Stevens Fire Department confirmed the boy, under, 10, and his grandmother were in stable condition with lacerations to their face, arms, hands and head.

The Everett Herald first reported the story.

According to the newspaper, state Department of Fish & Wildlife Capt. Alan Myers  said the boy was swimming in the river with his grandmother at about 11 a.m. when the otter attacked.  Why the otter attacked remained a mystery.

As of Thursday night, the otter had not been found. If caught, the otter may be relocated or euthanized.
