Chelan County registered nurse's license suspended after child rape charge

OLYMPIA -- The Washington State Department of Health announced Thursday it has immediately suspended the license of a Chelan County registered nurse after he was charged with child rape in Douglas County.

Charles White was charged with first-degree child rape on April 15 in Douglas County from an incident reported by a young girl in February.

After the initial investigation and gathering reports from local law enforcement, the Nursing Commission referred White’s case to the Department of Health on July 8 for action, and he was suspended Thursday.

He has 20 days to request a hearing to contest the charges and the suspension, the department said.
