SEATTLE --  Police said Tuesday they have arrested a violent felon accused of snatching his 1-month-old daughter away from the mother. The infant was found and OK, police said.

Police arrested 39-year-old Eric Carney, who went to the child’s home in the 5200 block of 15th Ave NE in the University District just before noon.

Investigators say that’s where Carney threatened to kill the 1-month-old’s mother and then grabbed the stroller holding the child.

The woman tried to grab the stroller back, but police said Carney attacked her and ran with the baby girl.

Police say Carney has a history of violent crimes, including auto theft and animal cruelty.  He was also convicted of third-degree assault, criminal mischief one drug charge. He has been ordered by the court to stay away from the woman.
