FEDERAL WAY - Two people escaped injury when a fire destroyed their Federal Way home early Tuesday morning. Unfortunately their dog was killed in the fire, South King Fire and Rescue reported. The fire was reported around 12:30 am at the home in the 33700 block of 37th Place Southwest, in Federal Way.

Firefighters arrived and found heavy smoke and flames from the structure, a batallion chief for South King Fire and Rescue said. A couple inside the home woke up and saw the fire and got out safely.
