KENT — A 14-year-old boy who lured, raped and brutalized an 8-year-old girl in Kent last November was sentenced as an adult Friday to 93 months  to life in prison.

The mother of the victim was in court and she wasn’t the only one with some choice words for teenage rapist Michael Harrell.

“Ultimately, it was your choice to beat and rape an 8-year-old girl and to leave her unconscious in the field,” King County Superior Court Judge Bill Bowman said. “That was your choice, nobody else’s.”

Police say the teenager lured the young girl into the woods on Nov. 7, 2013, by promising to show her a surprise.  Instead, he raped her and beat her, possibly hitting her in the head with a pipe, police said. After the attack, the girl, bleeding from severe head wounds, staggered inside the nearby hotel wearing only a T-shirt and socks. A clerk called police.

On Friday, Harrell declined to say anything at his sentencing.

But the victim’s mother spoke out in court, saying her little girl and her family will never be the same.

“My daughter to this day still screams in her sleep,” the mother said. “She wets the bed now. She cries all day.”

And, she said, she’s still recovering from the head trauma caused by the attack.

This convicted criminal should never walk free again. There’s not much chance of him improving or becoming a good person.

You don’t know that I have faith and prey for him and that baby girl I have faith God will help her get threw it and that he will learn his lesson.

That poor baby girl – he will never stop, he should never get out.”If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. cut it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This boy Will never get better, he should be subjected to the same treatment he gave that 8 yr old baby girl every single day for the rest of his pathetic miserable life

    1) Hey Hillary, where’s the ‘Village’?
    2) Hey Arizona, looks like you need some practice executing people… here’s a subject.
Take your time. Do it right.

Regardless of race no young girl or woman for that matter deserves to be raped. How about you pray that his victim finds peace and the strength to move on with her life.

All of y’all just as Wong for judging him. I’m sure he knows what he did is wrong. Do any of u know the future. I believe only God can judge him and everyone deserves a second chance yes my heart goes out to the girl but none of yall no either one. So don’t throw stones because on day before God umay not be accepted because u judged him. He is 14. He is going threw enough already. And so is the girl so leave it alone

You have got to be the dumbest person on earth….if he did this now at such a young age he will never stop, its been proven throughout history, he should never see the light of day and your “wrong” for thinking we should not judge him, tell that to the girl who has to live with this for the rest of her life,

      • Gods Child

Why am I dumb. Because that is my family. Yes he messed up so bad but he is just a kid. You don’t know what lead to this u don’t know nothing. And I prey for that lil girl every day. This has affected a lot of people. And yes he is being punished. Is that what u want to hear. He has to live and answer to God everyday and on his afterlife. Where ever that is. But are u a saint yea u probably never did what he did but are u perfect?? He was 14. He was not in his right mind and needs help. But how do u know he can’t change I believe he can. I know he is hurting because he hurt her everyday. I bet ur happy to hear that. It just breaks my heart to see all the negativity. He messed up but everyone deserves a chance to try and make things right. But that’s your opinion and your entitled to it but does that make u any better?

Sooooo…….we is all “wong for judging him……hmmmmm, the rest of your post makes little sense, either I can only assume you forgot your meds today. And clearly you are reading the Bible “wong” because it most clearly DOES allow for us to hold people accountable for their “wong doings and states CLEARLY how we should feel about them. I am going to hazard a guess your related to this FINE specimen of civility. smdh…….

i am almost positive that everyone who commented didnt relize that the boys family loves him and we should all come to notice that 1 mistake can destroy our reputation and our life.
i have done things that are not very good and everyday i think about it and how i wish i just could go back and undo it. so this poor kid is gunna live in misery and hatred instead of people trying to help him

Thank you so much. Those posts hurt. :( we just lost our mom she died at 37 and no one understands. I don’t know why he did that and I’m so sorry he did and he is too but he was not in his right mind. But he knows he is wrong and is accepting his punishment. So it’s sad all the way around. But thanks for understanding and God bless u.
