Tacoma man arrested on allegations of child rape

TACOMA -- A 42-year-old Tacoma man was arrested Thursday on allegations of child rape and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

Detectives from the  Washington State Patrol's Missing and Exploited Task Force said the suspect is accused of having raped two girls, ages 14 and 15, who were visiting the suspect’s daughter from out of state and who made the allegations after returning home.

The State Patrol did not say where the girls live.

As part of the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on a residence on 27th Street in Tacoma and ultimately arrested the suspect.

The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation on two counts of third-degree child rape, and one count of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, the State Patrol said.
