Showers and storms ahead, summer returns for the weekend

Big changes ahead as we enter the middle of the week. Actual rain where we need it: on those wildfires in Central WA. The good news is that a line of showers stretching from Portland to Wenatchee is providing some relief from the tinder dry conditions. The bad news is that we might see thunderstorms fire off east of the Cascades this afternoon.

TODAY a nice mix of clouds and sun around Seattle/Puget Sound. More clouds the further south you are-- and even some light rain around SW Washington towards Portland. High temps mid 70s. Tonight more clouds and a chance of a few showers starts around midnight for Seattle.

TOMORROW looks to be our wettest and coolest day of the week. High temps 65-70. Rain likely and a chance of t-storms in the afternoon.

THE REST OF THE WEEK looks like summer makes a nice comeback. A stray shower or two early THURSDAY is not out of the question. Decreasing clouds and highs 70-75. FRIDAY we warm up even more 75-80 expected. SATURDAY and SUNDAY both look nice and summery. Highs 80-85 for Seattle, near 90 for Portland. Great weather for the Torchlight Parade on Saturday night in Seattle's downtown.
