Accused robber 'Lil' Soup' turned into police by his mother

SEATTLE -- Say it ain't so, mother.

Lemel Groce -- a.k.a 'Lil' Soup' -- one of three suspects accused of robbing a 15-year-old  at gunpoint in the Brighton neighborhood last week, was brought to the police department by his mother early Wednesday morning.

According to police, Groce and two other men showed a 15-year-old a gun before snatching his necklace and fleeing in the 5100 block of South Kenyon Street around 9 p.m. Thursday.   Officers quickly arrived on scene and spotted Groce, but lost him in a foot chase.

Officers did arrest the two other suspects, who identified Groce as their accomplice.

Groce was arrested after his mother turned him and booked into the Kind County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
