Kitty rescued from Carlton Complex fire, 'She’s talking, eating a bit and responding to treatment'

LAKE CHELAN, Wash --  A kitty rescued from the wildfires torching hundreds of thousands of acres in central Washington is doing better according to veterinarians carrying for her.

“She’s talking, eating a bit and responding to treatment and loves from our staff,” said Lake Chelan Veterinary Hospital on Facebook Monday.

The swelling on the cat’s face was going down and she was able to see a little bit out of her left eye.

The veterinary also said she should be able to breath a little easier through her nose.

“We are hoping each day to see such improvement,” wrote the staff on Facebook.
“Thanks for all your kind words and well wishes; we pass them along to this gentle girl.”

The kitty was rescued from the Alta Lake Golf Course Sunday afternoon.

Initially vets said her ears, eyes, nose and pads of her feet suffered 2nd degree burns and abrasions.

It is unclear who owns the young black and white female with no tail, but the staff at the clinic are hoping someone will see her photo on social media and come forward to take her back to her family.
