Boat driver in deadly crash arrested

SEATTLE -- The 46-year-old man piloting the motorboat that allegedly slammed into a sailboat on Lake Washington, killing one and injuring two others, has been arrested, Seattle police confirmed to Q13FOX News.

The man from Renton has been booked into King County Jail on suspicion of homicide by motorcraft, Seattle police said. Police suspect the captain may have been impaired while piloting the boat.

A 24-year-old woman died as a result of her injuries sustained in the collision Wednesday night, Seattle police said. Two other people were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, The two boats involved, a motorboat and sailboat, were both disabled during the collision. Police said that another boater towed the sailboat to a dock in the Leschi neighborhood, where firefighters administered aid.
