Airbus files patent for most uncomfortable seat we have ever seen

Airbus patent application

TOULOUSE, France -- Boeing rival Airbus has filed for a patent that is likely to make anyone who flies cringe.

The drawing on the patent shows a fold-up style seat shaped like a bike saddle.

Airbus calls the design ‘a seating device with reduced bulk.’

Airlines continue to pressure airplane manufacturers to reduce the weight of aircrafts and increase seating capacity.

RyanAir in Europe has discussed stand-up seating for a number of years, but has never actually rolled it out to the public.

There is no word on when or if Airbus might equip its planes with the new saddle seats.
