Man shot in face near Kent Starbucks; suspect turns herself in

At least one person was shot outside of a Starbucks in Kent Tuesday.



KENT -- A woman who allegedly shot a man in the face Tuesday afternoon near a Starbucks in Kent turned herself in to the Tacoma police more than an hour after shots were fired.

According to Kent Police Department, a man was shot in the face around 12:30 p.m. in front of the Starbucks near the corner of SE 208th Street and 107th Avenue in Kent. The suspect, a woman, allegedly ran off but later turned herself in.

Police say the man and woman, both in thier 20`s, pulled up to order some coffee when the shot rang out.

The female suspect then took off from the scene while customers started helping the victim.



The victim was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries. His condition was unknown at 2 p.m.

"He`s still alive, he suffered a gunshot wound to the face," said assistant Kent police chief Derek Kammerzell. "He was alive, conscious, he was not able to talk due to the wound but he was able to communicate and write down the suspect`s name."

It was unknown why the woman shot the man, and police are investigating the shooting.
