Rape charges dropped against former Microsoft manager after accuser's previous lie surfaces

REDMOND, Wash --  Rape charges have been dismissed against a former Microsoft program manager after it came to light the accuser had a history including a false sex assault claim.

Vineet Kumar Srivastava, 37, was allegedly in his Microsoft office when a female custodian said he attacked her.

Prosecutors said they moved to dismiss the case after learning the woman had made up a rape allegation against an ex-boyfriend.

Srivastava had always denied all charges, saying the woman came on to him and forced him to have sex.
