TUMWATER — An excavator being pulled by a semi down I-5 hit five different overpasses Friday, according to Washington State Patrol.

Troopers say the 45-year-old driver struck the Crosby overpass while traveling south on SR 101. The semi then continued onto southbound I-5 and struck the Trosper Road pedestrian overpass, Tumwater Blvd., 93rd Avenue, and 113th Street.

WSP says debris from the overpasses fell onto the road creating a dangerous situation for other drivers.

The semi came to a stop at the Maytown rest area parking lot.
