BONNEY LAKE, Wash. -- 'Normal' is how neighbors described the young couple with two young kids who lived in the Bonney Lake home targeted by drug agents, who say they uncovered an elaborate meth operation there.

"We’re talking six pounds of meth, 25 pounds of liquid meth," Pierce County sheriff's Sgt. Ed Troyer said Wednesday. "That’s a large amount, and that’s a major operation."

Jesus Villagomez-Ledezma and his girlfriend, Rosa Cuevas-Valencia, are now facing several drug charges.

Police believe they were bringing liquid meth from Mexico and converting it to crystal meth in their home -- a dangerous and potentially explosive operation.

"It's very startling," said one neighbor who called the couple and their children friendly. "I mean less then a block from where we live, we never suspected anything."

That neighbor is also shocked that this would happen with two children, ages 8 and 10, in the home.

Drug agents said they found meth cooking on the stove near where the family ate and said there was crystal and liquid meth scattered all over the house. The kids were taken into state custody and are being tested for chemical exposure.

Police said they also found cocaine in the home, along with several guns.
