1 killed in small plane crash near Snoqualmie Falls

FALL CITY, Wash. -- A small plane crashed near Snoqualmie Falls Tuesday morning, killing one person, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

A Cessna 182 crashed around 8 a.m. at the Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course in the 35000 block of SE Fish Hatchery Road. The pilot of the plane and sole occupant was killed in the crash. No one on the ground was injured.

Golf course employees said the plane hit two trees on the 18th hole fairway and broke up all over the 9th hole.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known. There is an airport adjacent to the golf course.

Both the FAA and the NTSB are investigating, but the NTSB is the lead agency.
