INSIDER GUIDE: Locate pot near you with weed apps!

KCPQ-TV

SEATTLE -- Weed, weed, everywhere and not a joint to - just kidding its legal!

The skunk weed market can be tough to navigate and with new recreational customers on the horizon more people will be looking for that perfect bud.

Enter weed apps.

There are apps for both Android and iOS that nug seekers can use to find the pot. Weed Maps (Android, iOS) will not just tell you where the dispensaries are (I found one within a block of my location) but also has a running feed for deals in your region, although most of the current deals are out of California.

There's also a handy guide to using the ganja in Washington which includes lists like: "Twelve spots to enjoy while stoned in Washington," Ten Washington born strains you need in your lungs," and of course "Top ten munchie spots." But perhaps the best feature is the 4:20 in-app alarm that allows users to set a daily reminder to toke up.

If the pursuit of the perfect smoke is on your to-do's download Leafly (Android, iOS) a GeekWire award winning app that also locates nearby dispensaries and allows users to explore popular strains of bud. Plus the good folks at Leafly strive to keep the stoner informed with a news feed designed to showcase current cannabis news and facts.

And if there's one thing you can always count on with Mary Jane it’s the, er, interesting  thoughts and ideas that result and often go up in smoke once the blunt is extinguished. Never fear highDEAS is here! A website dedicated to recording and sharing ganja inspired thoughts, so far my favorite: "Has anybody else noticed that the mascot for CHEETos is a tiger? Why not a CHEETah? Surely I'm not the only one ;D." So close. Highdroid is an unofficial app that showcases the highDEAS feed for Android users.
