More July heat ahead
The heat is on! We're going to see temperatures soar more than ten degrees above normal in some spots. A ridge of high pressure continues to hold it's grip on the Pacific Northwest for the next few days. A weak system brings in some natural air conditioning with a marine push of air mid-week, but we'll heat up again this weekend.
TODAY we're starting off with brief clouds. Sun and some warmth for the afternoon. High temperatures in the mid 80s for Seattle/Puget Sound. Low 90s for SW Washington/Portland. Tonight we'll still hang onto that daytime heat and temperatures will in the 60s-- so they might be a bit uncomfortable for sleeping.
TOMORROW another warm day expected. We'll see a repeat of Monday's heat but with even fewer morning clouds-- we might add a degree or two onto the thermometer.
THE REST OF THE WEEK will still be mostly dry. WEDNESDAY is the day we see a marine push of cooler air thanks to a front moving through British Columbia. Extra morning clouds and naybe some drizzle on the coast or a few Cascade showers, otherwise dry. High temps in the mid 70s. THURSDAY also starts cloudy with gradual clearing. Highs 75-80. THE WEEKEND is looking warm, a bit muggy and could have some pop-up Cascade t-storms. High temps in the mid 80s.
