SEATTLE -- A man denied entry to a bar because he appeared too drunk allegedly climbed around the back of the bar, opened a small window and shot pepper spray indiscriminately at the patrons inside, Seattle police said.

The man tried to walk into a bar in the 4800 block of Beacon Avenue South sometime Saturday, but wasn't allowed in because he was too drunk, police said.

Apparently upset because he couldn't get more to drink, the man walked around the side of the bar and shot pepper spray through a small window located in the back of the business.

A victim seated near the window said his face quickly began to burn and he ran out of the building. All other customers also ran out of the bar, the owner told police, choking and coughing from the pepper spray.

The suspect ran off and wasn't spotted again.

The owner has video surveillance footage of the suspect, police said, and has seen him at the bar before, though he doesn't know his name.

Police told the owner to call next time the patron tried to enter his business.
