Police: Husband strong-arms grocery store, wife drives getaway car...both get arrested

TUMWATER, Wash – A husband and wife team is now behind bars after a foiled strong-armed robbery at a Tumwater grocery story Monday night reported Q13FOX News.

Police said Gary Bafford walked into the Southend Grocery in Tumwater just before 10:00 p.m., pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money.

Investigators said that employee gave Bafford cash and he ran out the door to a car driven by his wife, Genaveve Webb.

That car was stopped by a Thurston County deputy shortly after as it sped south on I-5 said police.

Bafford jumped from the car and ran, but thanks to officers from multiple agencies and a police dog he was tracked down hiding in a wooded area said police.

Both Bafford and Webb were arrested and sent to jail with the likelihood of facing 1st degree robbery charges in the not too distant future.
