TRACYTON, Wash. — Rescue crews continued to search Tuesday for a man who was spotted struggling in the water near the Tracyton boat launch.

According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, three kayakers spotted a man around 7 p.m. Monday near the boat launch waiving his arms and yelling for help. Kayakers quickly rushed to him, but he disappeared underneath just as they came within several yards.

Two rescue boats from the sheriff’s office and others from the U.S. Coast Guard searched the waters late Monday night. The search was called off at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning and slated to resume around 7 a.m.

Anyone with information about the missing man is asked to call 911 or 360-308-5400.
