Passenger standing up through Mercedes sunroof fires shots at crowd in Belltown

SEATTLE – A man was shot in the foot in Belltown early Monday morning said Seattle Police.

Detective Rennee Witt said a group of people walking near the 1500 block of 2nd Ave shortly after 1:00 a.m. began arguing with another group of people inside a Mercedes sedan.

Witt wrote in the SPD Blotter that the person in the passenger seat of the car stood up through the sunroof and opened fire 8 to 10 shots at the group outside the car.

One man was hit in the foot.

Police were called to the scene but said the people there were hostile to officers and not helpful.

A security guard described the scene to officers and said the Mercedes appeared to be a gray or silver sedan.
