CAUTION: Fireworks safety and public display information

SEATTLE -- Stands opened over the weekend selling fireworks for the upcoming fourth of July holiday and officials are warning parents about the dangerous of legal and illegal fireworks.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents are seeing more illegal fireworks on the streets every year. Illegal incendiary devices are powerful and unpredictable and should not be out in the public.

Officials also warn parents about fireworks safety. Every year, thousands of people are severely injured or burned by fireworks. Fireworks should only be handled by adults and children should be under constant supervision.

The Washington state Fire Marshal has a list of public fire works displays in the state.
