Police: Man drives through Seattle neighborhood at 80mph, crashes into parked car

SEATTLE -- A man went speeding through a Seattle neighborhood at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour and eventually crashed into a parked car, according to Seattle police.

An officer saw the suspect driving on the sidewalk and through some hedges around 5:00 p.m. on the 7300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South.

Police said the 26-year-old man turned onto South Othello Street and passed the officer going about 80 mph in a 30 mph zone.

The officer tried to follow the car but lost sight of it briefly. Police said the officer turned onto South Holly Street and found the suspect had crashed into a parked car.

The suspect was not hurt, but he was taken to the hospital because of his "erratic behavior." He is being investigated for DUI.
