CHELAN COUNTY -- Another brush fire has broken out east of the Cascades. Chelan County fire officials say a 40-50 acre wildfire is growing fast in the Hay Canyon area near Cashmere.

Deputies issued a level 3 evacuation notice for one home -- meaning residents should leave immediately -- and a level 2 evacuation for more than a dozen other nearby homes.

The fire was first reported around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews are fighting the fire from the ground and the air. Officials say three 20-person hand crews are headed to the scene.

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office says the cause of the fire is not known. Officials say winds are light which is helping fire crews.

Hay Canyon Road remains closed.
