MUST WATCH: Heroic cop saves woman from oncoming train

RICHMOND -- A Texas cop is being called a hero as video of him saving an apparently suicidal woman is becoming widely shared on the Internet.

YouTube dashcam footage shows Ramon Morales, a Richmond officer, springing into action to grab a woman off the tracks.

According to the video description, a passerby flagged down Morales and told him a woman was sitting in front of the train. He sprung into action, snatched the woman up and dragged her away just second before the train rushes on.

"He stepped up to the plate and he showed what he's made of," said Sergeant L. Neinast. "He got there just in time. Saved this woman's life without regard for his own."

Morales, a former Marine, has only been with the force for 10 months.

"He's a hero. In our eyes, he's a hero and he went way above and beyond the call of duty to save someone else's life," says Sgt. Neinast.

According to local news outlets, the woman was transported to a hospital and evaluated. Her current condition is unknown.
