SEATTLE -- Police arrested a robber Friday who they say used the stolen money to buy scratch lottery tickets.

The clerk told officers a man entered a 7-Eleven store on the 1600 block of SW Holden Street and implied he had a gun. He demanded money and ran from the store.

Police said officers in "plain clothes" were nearby and followed the suspect into another convenience store. They set up outside the store and arrested him when he came out.

The suspect had a large amount of cash and had purchased at least $100 in scratch lottery tickets, police said.

The victim positively identified the robber and officers booked him into King County Jail.
