TAHUYA -- A heated argument over a vehicle led a 57-year-old man to shoot another man in the gut Wednesday evening in Mason County, sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies received calls of a shooting around 7 p.m. in the 400 and 600 block of NE Dewatto Hills Road in Tahuya. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old man with a bullet wound in his gut.

The victim was transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton where he was treated and released.

According to victim and witness statements, the 31-year-old man was involved in a disagreement about a vehicle with the older man that lasted late into the evening. The argument seemed to be over, witnesses said, when the suspect produced a gun, shot up the victim's vehicle, shot the victim in the stomach and walked away.

After getting witness  statements, police arrested the suspect at his home. He was booked into Mason County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.
