Police: Man cried for help as girlfriend stabbed him with 8-inch knife

SEATTLE -- A 31-year-old woman will likely face charges of assault for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with an 8-inch kitchen knife as he cried out for help, police said.

Seattle police were dispatched to an apartment in the 1300 block of E. John Street with calls of a domestic dispute. When they arrived at the home, officers allegedly heard a man yelling, "Don't kill me! Stop stabbing me."

Police knocked on the door and a 31-year-old woman answered. When she opened the door, police spotted a 27-year-old man lying down on the floor with severe stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. They called medics and arrested the woman.

Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed into surgery, but his condition is unknown at this time.

Officers examining the apartment allegedly found an 8-inch kitchen blade with blood smeared on it.

The woman was booked into King county Jail for investigation of assault.
