SEATTLE -- Northbound Interstate 5 at milepost 270 near Blaine is slated to be closed for two hours as officials work to remove an overturned semi-truck.

Washington State Department of Transportation officials closed the road just after 8:30 a.m. for about two hours to remove a large semi truck that flipped around 4:20 a.m. near Peace Portal Drive.

Drivers in passenger vehicles will follow a signed detour, exiting at milepost 270 and going north on Portal Way through downtown Blaine to D Street and then back onto I-5. Trucks will continue on and use State Route 543.
