The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office tells Q13FOX News, deputies were called around 6:45 p.m. Sunday to a home in the 14000 block of Yelm Highway in Yelm to investigate a report of a domestic dispute and suicide threats. When deputies arrived at the scene, they spotted a 19-year-old woman in her car driving erratically in the family’s front yard. She reportedly drove at family members who tried to stop her.
A deputy approached the home’s gate and ordered the suspect to stop. Instead, the woman allegedly sped at the gate and the deputy, forcing him to jump out of the way in order to avoid being hit. The woman continued to drive away.
The deputy was injured in the melee and transported to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was later released.
Police spotted the suspect’s car a short time later near the home, and again the suspect failed to yield. Police initiated tactical maneuvers and stopped the vehicle.
Deputies said the woman was “uncooperative” as she was arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail.
The woman could face charges on first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and eluding police.
