NEW INFO: Suspect in crash that killed 3 turns himself in at Harborview

SEATTLE -- The suspect in a car crash that killed three people last month turned himself in to police, according to the Washington State Patrol.
19-year-old Alfredo Navarro, Jr. III showed up at Harborview Medical Center late Friday, troopers said. Seattle police took him into custody and WSP detectives booked him into Skagit County Jail around 3:00 a.m. Saturday.
WSP had issued a $1 million warrant for Navarro earlier this week. Investigators said Navarro's family checked him out of Harborview last weekend.
Prosecutors say Alfredo Navarro caused the crash, and that he was high on alcohol and marijuana.
Navarro broke his arm and leg in the accident – but cops were not guarding his hospital room when police say his parents checked him out.
Police say Navarro’s injuries were so severe, they didn't think he would be released.
Navarro is no stranger to law enforcement; he faced prior charges of DUI and eluding police in 2012. Those charges were later dropped.
Prosecutors charged Navarro with three counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.
