Report: Lockette, Kaepernick totally cleared from fault
MIAMI — Neither Colin Kaepernick nor Ricardo Lockette will face any charges stemming from rumors of a sexual assault investigation in Miami, as the two did nothing wrong and appear to both be victimized by an mentally unstable woman, TMZ reported.
Kaepernick and Lockette were named by an unidentified woman who filed a police report after leaving Lockette’s Miami apartment on April 1. The woman hinted at sexual misconduct by the two NFL stars.
However, police found quite the opposite, TMZ reported, saying it was the woman who was inappropriate at the player’s apartment.
Investigators said Lockette and Kaepernick called police to the apartment on the night of April 1 saying a bizarre woman wouldn’t leave them alone. Cops found the woman in the aparment, TMZ reported, moving in a bizarre manner. The woman also screamed about “Jesus and devils,” and at one point through her wig at the officers.
TMZ speculated that though the woman tested negative for drugs, she may have taken some form of bath salts.
The woman has a history of hounding Kaepernick after the two briefly dated in 2013, and has an “unhealthy obsession” with the star.
“In the end, investigators determined that the accuser didn’t have a shred of evidence to prove Colin or anyone else did anything wrong. Case closed,” TMZ reported.
Kaepernick tweeted in response to the news that he was completely free of charges.
Lockette also tweeted after the TMZ news broke, but it was unclear if it was related to the news.
