NEW ORLEANS, LA -- With a case of Busch beer by her side, a menthol cigarette in her hand, and a disco ball flashing overhead Miriam Burbank attended her last party reported WGNO-TV.

Burbank, who's daughter's called her Mae Mae, said they wanted their mother's funeral to reflect her full life and the folks at Charbonnet Funeral Home in New Oreleans knew just what to do.

Along with the beer, cigarette and disco accoutrements, Mae Mae was seated at a table in a living room setting her fingernails painted black and gold in honor of her beloved New Orleans Saints.

Mae Mae's daughters told WGNO-TV said it was a fitting goodbye.

Mae Mae is not the first New Orleanian recently to have an unusual send off.  In April, philanthropist and socialite Mickey Easterling causally sat on an iron bench and greeted guests with champagne and a magnificent hat.
