Tacoma police find body after 911 caller says he killed, buried dad in backyard

TACOMA, Wash -- Police said Tuesday they found a body buried in yard of a home, shortly after a 911 caller said he had killed and buried their father in the backyard.

Tacoma Police spokesperson Loretta Cool said a man in a home in the 1900 block of S. Madison Street had reportedly been missing since at least Saturday and the man’s son does live at the home.

Cool declined to identify the father or the son, but did say the son had been detained as investigators searched the home and the yard.

The man’s wife, who also lives in the home, said she last spoke to her husband around 9 p.m. Friday.
