Firefighters rescue worker from inside grain silo

TACOMA -- Firefighters rescued a worker from inside a grain elevator Tuesday afternoon at the Port of Tacoma, officials said.

According to Tacoma Fire Spokesperson Joe Meinecke, the worker suffered a head injury while inside the large TEMCO grain silo at the Port of Tacoma. Firefighters were able to access the patient via an elevator inside a grain silo, and carried him to an ambulance.

The patient was in stable condition, officials said. It was unknown how he injured his head.
