MABUHL ISLAND, Malaysia --  What would you do if your wooden canoe was swamped with water and headed for the bottom?

If you are like most people you would likely get out and let it sink.

But one young girl in Malaysia had a much better solution in the same situation.

The girl, who looks to be 9 or 10 years old, is seen in a video posted over the weekend to YouTube using her legs to rescue a sinking wooden canoe.

That's right, she uses her legs to not only pull the boat up from the depths, but also to splash the water out of it almost entirely.

The uploader of the video identifies the girl as Bajau Laut.

Bajau Laut are a Moro indigenous ethnic group of Maritime Southeast Asia who often live their entire lives on the water.  Many live in villages built on stilts in the middle of the ocean and travel by wooden boats.
