LEAVENWORTH -- Sheriff's deputies are looking for two men who they say indiscriminately shot at a man who was mushroom hunting in a rural area of the Cascade Mountains.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff's Office, a man was mushroom hunting Tuesday afternoon near the Ruby Creek area of Blewett Pass when he heard what appeared to be a tire blowing out on his truck.

The man stopped his car about 4.5 miles up from Highway 97 and stepped outside to check his tire. However, he soon realized it wasn't his tire, and he was being shot at by one of two males driving in a white or cream colored mid-80s style Ford Ranger or Bronco.

The man quickly stepped back into his car and drove down Ruby Creek. According to police, the man passed the suspects' car as they shot at him. When the man arrived home, he noticed four bullet holes in his bumper and quarter panel, but he was not injured.

Deputies called to Blewett Pass were unable to locate the suspects' car. They said it was unknown who may have been shooting at the reporting party.
