KITSAP COUNTY -- Another strange twist in the case of Casey Kasem.

The 82-year-old radio icon was taken to the hospital Sunday against his wife's wishes.

She threw raw meat at Kerri Kasem, Casey's daughter, and cited a King James verse from the bible, according to a spokesperson. This happened after Kerri called an ambulance to take her dad to the hospital.

Jean Kasem has been fighting her husband's daughters about his care. A Kitsap County judge ruled Casey's daughter Kerri could have him seen by a doctor of her choice.

Kerri has temporary control of Casey's medical care.

Kerri Kasem asked for an emergency court hearing Monday, saying her dad is very sick and she wants to take him back to Los Angeles to be treated by his regular doctors.

Right now, Kasem is under “observation”, which means he can only be hospitalized for 24 hours and then will be released.  Kerri didn’t want him to return to the Silverdale, Wash., home where he is staying with Jean.

The judge ruled that Kasem can return to the Silverdale home – if doctors say OK – until a scheduled court hearing on Friday, where the judge will make the ultimate ruling about whether the California order that grants Kerri conservatorship over Kasem's medical care will be followed and Kasem returned to Kerri’s care.
