Naked man doing push-ups in street killed by car

PORTLAND -- A naked man doing push-ups in the middle of a North Portland street was hit by a car and killed early Sunday morning, KPTV reported.

According to KPTV, police received three reports of a naked man running in traffic near North Columbia Boulevard and Portsmouth Avenue at 4:04 a.m. Sunday. As police were on the way, police received a call the man had been struck by a car.

Medical personal called to the scene found the man dead in the road.

It is unknown why the man was naked and doing push-ups in the street, police told KPTV. The driver of the vehicle that struck him was not impaired, and he was released by police following an investigation.

The victim's identity has not yet been released. The Oregon State Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy -- including a toxicology report -- to determine his cause of death.
