Police arrest one after string of strong-arm robberies in West Seattle

SEATTLE –After a string of late night robberies in West Seattle, police said they had arrested at least one person and identified another who may have been involved.

Police were called to Westwood Village Monday night to reports that a group of 6-8 people had surrounded a man outside QFC, beaten him and stolen his cell phone.  After interviewing that man police said they were able to track down four possible suspects nearby, but the injured man was only able to positively identify one of the adult men in the group and a teen girl as having been part of the attack.

The man was arrested, the teen girl was released into her mother’s custody.

Police said during the investigation they also found credit and debit cards near the scene of the attack that had been reported stolen during a previous robbery earlier that evening near the West Seattle Junction.  Police said they were also looking into the possibility these two crimes may be connected to a third strong-arm robbery reported in West Seattle over the weekend.
