Screen capture of DNR Map

OLYMPIA, Wash -- As the scope of the disaster in east Snohomish County sinks in, many people around the state are beginning to wonder about the natural risks where they live.

The Washington State Department of Resources is sharing an important tool that homeowners can use to assess the risk on their property.

The interactive map allows anyone in Washington to search their own address and see what risks they face.

Specifically the map includes earthquake, landslide, tsunami, lahar and other dangers.

Because of the renewed concern the website where the map was published has been slower to respond for some users likely due to the number of people now using it.
