More lowland snow on the way

There is a winter weather advisory in effect until Monday morning for San Juan, Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Strait of Juan De Fuca, Hood Canal, Inlet areas and the north coast. 3”-5” of snow is likely during this time period. In addition to that, a winter weather advisory has also been posted for the mountains as about another foot of snow could fall this weekend. The snow level is currently around 1000 feet.

Heading into tonight, it looks like the northern third of the state will continue to see most of the light snowfall. We have a warm front that will drift through the area so temperatures will warm in the central and south sound overnight keeping the moisture mainly rain. As we head into tomorrow night, a blast of cooler air from the north should be able to override the warmer air and that’s when we have a decent chance of Puget Sound getting some light accumulations through Monday morning.

By Tuesday, temperatures start to warm up and Western Washington will be in the mid-50s for daytime highs by mid-week.
