Downed tree cuts power for thousands in Burien

Power lines are down in the area.



SEATTLE -- A drown tree cut out the power for almost 8,000 customers around 4 a.m. Thursday morning in the Burien/White Center area.

Seattle City Lights workers said a fallen tree over power lines caused the outage. Crews were on the scene, and hoped to have all power restored by 12 p.m. Thursday.

Seattle City Light is the tenth largest public electric utility in the U.S.
