Snow will be replaced by rain and wind this week in Seattle

We make a major transition this week into a wet, windy and big time mountain snow weather pattern. Something we would expect this time of year but so far we haven’t seen it. Tonight there will be a few more “left-over” snow showers but warmer air is coming in too so I’m not expecting much in terms of sticking on the ground snowfall. The best places for evening snowfall will be out along the hood canal and points at higher elevations. Snow level will be around 1000 feet. This whole week coming up will be wet and windy. The ski areas will get some major snowfall especially above 4000 feet. It’ll be the best solid week of snowfall we have seen this whole season for the skiers. Oh and the super cold weather is gone. We will be around 50 degrees this week. Walter. 2/9/14
