SEATTLE — University of Washington Quarterback Cyler Miles and receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow have been suspended from the football team for an indefinite amount of time following accusations of assault, the team announced Thursday.

According to head coach Chris Peterson, Miles and Stringfellow were suspended indefinitely following a “violation of team rules.”

The two players are being investigated for two assaults near campus during a post-Super Bowl party, the Seattle Times reported. Neither has been arrested or charged with a crime.

According to Seattle police, two individuals, later identified by the Seattle Times Miles and Stringfellow, jumped out of a car and accosted a man and his girlfriend in the 2300 block of NE 55th Street following the Seahawks win.

The two allegedly asked the man if he was a Seahawks fans, and the man replied, “Yes, are you?” The two players then allegedly punched the man in the face before neighbors could come to the area to assist.

The victim went home and said told his friends he recognized the two suspects. He then called police.

Police said the Miles and Stringfellow werealso  involved in a prior incident near the burning couches following the Seahawks victory, where Miles, supposedly wearing a Broncos hat, tried to stop a girl from filming the celebration.  Miles left that scene before police could be called.

Miles is from Colorado.

Miles, a sophomore, was slated to take over the Huskies’ quarterback in 2014. Stringfellow, also a sophomore, had 20 catches and 259 yards in 12 games for the team last year.

Petersen is not expected to comment until the investigation is complete, university officials said.
