Kaepernick: Sherman’s remarks ‘ridiculous'; he’s ‘afraid’ of 49ers receivers

NEW YORK — In an interview with the New York Post, Colin Kaepernick said Richard Sherman’s comments after the NFC Championship Game were “ridiculous” and that he knows Sherman is “afraid” of the 49ers receivers, adding, “That’s something I look forward to (exploiting) next year.”

kaepernick1The 49ers quarterback gave an interview with Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post. Hubbuch’s article was published in the Post Thursday.

“I think everyone knows his comments were ridiculous,” Kaepernick said, referring to the FOX Sports postgame interview in which Sherman criticized 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree and said he (Sherman) was the best cornerback in the NFL.

“As my dad has always told me, if you have to tell people how good you are, then how good are you really?” Kaepernick added, according to the Post. “If you have to go on national TV and try to say you’re the best cornerback in the league, then you’ve got your own insecurities.”

Kaepernick said Sherman “made a good play on that ball” on the pass he tipped to Crabtree that was intercepted by another player, “but if I throw it a foot farther, it’s a touchdown and now you’re the goat, Richard Sherman.”

Kaepernick said he looks forward to meeting Sherman and the Seahawks next season — and vowed that he will never fear Sherman, no matter how badly the throw to Crabtree turned out.

“I’ll take that matchup every day,” Kaepernick said. “I feel like he’s afraid of our receivers, and that’s something I look forward to [exploiting] next year.”

Yes he's afraid both times you throw his way in a game. One bogus PI penalty and one pass defensed that resulted in an int. IF you had thrown it a foot farther it probably would have been incomplete but thats an argument for another day because you didn't. Can't wait til next year's home game against the whiners.

He is just mad that he screwed up and as a result has to sit and watch the game with his fellow gang bangers rather than be playing in it.

lmao .. '' if I had made a pass a foot higher " … wow how about if you had not thrown in his direction or not thrown 2 interceptions ???

  • We own you!

What an ignorant idiot….you throw it a foot higher and it would not be completed, Crabtree didn't jump high enough and if he did he would have been out of bounds anyway…..did this moron even watch the replay?

he has not kissed his biceps against the Hawks once and will never do it against us he is a mediocre QB who is one run away from being put out for a season ending injury doesn't know how to slide or run out of bounds and can't read through his progressions

This is just hubris talking. Sherman isn't 'scared' of the 49'ers WRs, and for Kaepernick to say that is crass. Honestly, I think guy is fairly intelligent, but he's like a lot of these NFL players: cocky and sometimes arrogant. I'm certainly not impressed with the image he's portraying. He's all tatted up and wears his hat like the gangbangers do. I really think the guy just lacks good, old fashioned common sense.

Even the Niner's fans represent the same thing as posted by 'toddy'. You need to grow up and be mature dude…

Coming from someone that kisses their own arms & has been so close every year but just not close enough….. I bet you would of won that Super Bowl too if you had been a foot closer….next time throw it a foot farther so Sherman can catch that too! GO HAWKS!
