Feds say more videos of students were taken by Bush School teacher, principal reports

SEATTLE — The principal of The Bush School in Seattle sent emails to parents saying federal authorities told him they had found videotapes of students that had been created by a suspended coach and substitute teacher who has been charged with voyeurism in Canada, the school confirmed Wednesday.

Federal authorities had seized electronic equipment and other items from the Green Lake home of Jason Paur, 43, after he was charged in Canada last month from an incident while he was on a school-sponsored student skiing trip.

Paur was arrested in Canada on Dec. 10 after students on a school ski trip discovered a digital camera belonging to him set up in a room occupied by girls at the Silver Star ski resort near Vernon, B.C. One of the other chaperones on the trip called Canadian authorities, who arrested him and charged him with voyeurism.

The Seattle school has placed Paur on administrative leave.

It isn’t known if Paur could face charges in the United States.

But principal Leslie David sent the following emails to parents:  “I learned from the U.S. Attorney that the Department of Homeland Security has discovered additional video tapes of students that were allegedly created by Jason Paur. Two tapes, each created prior to this year, involve students who are no longer at the school, and another was taped on campus this fall. The room in which the video was made on campus was searched in the days following the incident at Silver Star by the school and agents of the Department of Homeland Security and no evidence of video equipment was found.”
