Man charged in fatal Fox Island stabbing

TACOMA -- Bail has been set at $2 million for a man charged with the murder that shocked Fox Island residents.

Pierce County prosecutors charged 30-year-old Jason Madron with first degree murder in Pierce County Superior Court today.

Authorities believe Madron stabbed Gig Harbor resident Jacob Glenn to death outside the Fox Island Grocery and Deli on Nov. 20.

Prosecutors say Glenn, 23, met Madron and some friends to buy drugs - but Madron tried to rob Glenn instead, reports the Tacoma News Tribune.

The Tribune reports Madron has a documented history of drug use, which includes pleading guilty three times to unlawful possession of a controlled substance since 2005.
